Stratford Park becomes a registered charity, and the strategy and vision for the park is established, and hosts its first ever Motorsport NZ sanctioned event on site.
2022
Documents signed
The Stratford Park founding document is signed and the Stratford Park Board is formed. Additional land is also purchased for the motorsport complex area.
2021
Land purchased
The Gilbert South land was successfully purchased as part of the park expansion, and several visits were made to multipurpose event and equine facilities across the country to aid in planning.
2020
Stage One
The ‘Stage One Masterplan of Stratford Park’, was released to the public, while the “Stratford Development Feasibility Stage One Needs Assessment” and a Strategic Review report were also finalised. This led to a council approved a 7.18m loan which enabled the purchase of the Lilley land, as part of the park expansion plans.
2019
Awarded a Grant
The Taranaki Electrical trust awarded Stratford A&P a grant to fund a feasibility study, to be led by the newly established Feasibility Steering Committee. The Stratford Park Concept Proposal is shared with all relevant groups, leading to the creation of the Stage One Master Plan of Stratford Park.
2018
Stratford Park was born
The Committee engaged in professional leadership and governance advise to develop a comprehensive strategic focus for the association. The idea of Stratford Park, a multi facility community hub, was born.
2017
Strategic Planning
A Strategic Planning Sub-Committee was formed to produce a strategic plan for the A&P's future, commencing with an in-depth review and future roadmap from each body within the showground facility.
2016
The Beginning
The beginning of future proofing for the 110-year-old Stratford A&P Association, with the realisation of the need to review, upgrade and expand the showground facilities.
