JUNE 2022 - ISSUE 3
STAKEHOLDER NEWSLETTER
Welcome to the third of our regular updates. The team at Stratford Park have been working hard over the last few months so here is a snapshot of what has been happening.
Although it has only been 3 months since our last update it feels like a long time ago now. The last 3 months have brought numerous challenges for all of New Zealand, and this project has not escaped the impact of Covid.
We are currently in the midst of our capital raise for the purchase of one of the two remaining pieces of land needed for the project. This capital raise allows supporters to become “Founders” of the project. If you are interested in becoming part of our founder group please contact Chairman@stratfordpark.co.nz
Our equestrian team continues to work on plans for the establishment of their site on the southern side of Flint Road. We have obtained quotes for the building of areas, installation of power and roading. Our aim is to complete this work in spring, so if you are a contractor, builder, fencer or want to help in any way please contact us, as all assistance would be greatly appreciated.
The maize has been harvested and the paddocks resown ready for winter grazing.
The Taranaki Car Club is working on plans for the creation of a gravel rally track that will utilise some of the farm races. This will involve some relocation of existing fences and building of new tracks, as with equestrian contractors and material support would be greatly appreciated.
A highlight of the last few months
Our open day was held on the 1st May. This was our first chance due to Covid to present our project to the wider public.
Over 300 people attended our public information meetings and a similar number of classic and racing cars put on a mini car show.
We aim to do more of these public events in the coming months to promote our project and ensure we explain what the benefits of the Park are to Taranaki.
With our structure now finalised we have formed the Stratford Park Limited – the governance body for the project and are currently recruiting our directors for the board. We aim to have this completed by the end of June.
And finally please keep the 16th October 2022 free as this is looking like it will be the date of our massive Taranaki Car & Truck show. We aim to put on an extravaganza the will showcase what this project can bring to Taranaki. It will be a massive event and we need people to help organise this, so if you are keen to help please contact us.
As always please drop us a line or message us on Facebook if you have any questions or want to be involved.
